SALT is a registered UK Learning Provider with full centre registration through the National Open College Network (NOCN). We offer a wider range of nationally accredited learning programmes for children, young people and professionals.
Learning sessions are designed to engage and motivate, through creative and engaging approaches to teaching and learning, often delivered and designed in non-traditional ways.
SALT offers a range of training courses designed to offer flexibility and the opportunity to build capacity within teams. Our aim is to build better links between professionals to support families, children and young people.
All SALT courses are delivered by qualified teachers and experienced trainers who have a thorough understanding of the important principles of teaching and learning.
We offer a workshop-based approach, through a mixture of direct and activity based delivery, where all styles of learning are taken into account. Delegates are made to feel relaxed and welcome, through our inclusive approach to the delivery of accredited training programmes.
Our training sessions give professional carers, teachers, teaching assistants and wider teams very specific, practical and accessible strategies to engage children and young people who have an identified need for additional support once problems have started to emerge.
The SALT approach aims to embed the social principles of reciprocal interaction, between cognitive behavior and environmental influences, whilst recognising that learning is a cognitive process that takes place within a social context.
SALT’s training sessions promote a continuous cycle of curious questioning, reflection and creative learning, whilst exploring all behavior as means of communication within the home or school environment and social settings.
SALT promotes emotional intelligence through recognition of the child and adults ability to identify and understand social and emotional feelings and behaviours in themselves and others. This approach offers insight and awareness into managing our own behavioural responses, and interconnected relationships, within situations that maybe socially and emotionally difficult.
Providing an unconditional, and an empathetic approach to education, through teaching and social learning, we offer practical support to engage hard to reach, engage and motivate children and young people, whilst supporting families and professionals.
